Supermassive Games has officially announced the release date for their upcoming cinematic sci-fi horror adventure, Directive 8020. Launching on October 2, 2025, the game will be available on PC, PS5, and Xbox Series X|S. Alongside the release date, a gripping new story trailer premiered during Sony’s State of Play showcase, offering a deeper look into the eerie dangers aboard the colony ship Cassiopeia.
In Directive 8020, Earth is on the brink of collapse, and humanity’s last hope lies twelve light-years away on Tau Ceti f. But when the Cassiopeia crash-lands on the planet, its crew quickly realizes they are not alone. A shape-shifting alien organism has infiltrated the ship, capable of mimicking its prey. As paranoia spreads, survival hinges on quick thinking and difficult choices, some of which could determine the fate of all humankind.

Fans of The Dark Pictures Anthology will find familiar elements in Directive 8020, from branching narratives and impactful choices to quick-time events that test reflexes in life-or-death situations. However, the game also introduces redesigned and polished mechanics to heighten immersion and intensity.
Directive 8020 launches worldwide on October 2, 2025, for PS5, Xbox Series X|S, and PC with pre-orders opening in June 2025.
