Disney Speedstorm will be available in early access on most major platforms on April 18, 2023. Being a competitive racing game, it is only fair to wonder if the game will feature cross-play and cross-save support and can be played against other players across all these platforms, or if there will be a need to juggle between more than one racing profile.

Read ahead as we answer some of the questions about Disney Speedstorm’s cross-play and cross-save support.

Is there Cross-play support in Disney Speedstorm

Is there Cross-play support in Disney Speedstorm?

Yes, Disney Speedstorm will have full cross-play support, which means you can play against other players regardless of the platform that they are playing on. Since it’s a cross-platform game, it can be played on the PC, PS4 and PS5, Xbox One and Xbox Series X|S, and on the Nintendo Switch.

Can cross-play be disabled in Disney Speedstorm?

Yes, cross-play can be enabled or disabled through the settings in Disney Speedstorm. It is understandable that different platforms can be played through different peripherals, which may bring about different advantages. Should you wish to just play against players on the same platform, you can simply disable cross-play.

Does Disney Speedstorm cross-play require an online subscription?

Disney Speedstorm’s FAQ implies that the game will require a platform-specific online subscription to be able to play online multiplayer, but it will not be required for the first 6 months of the game’s Early Access. This applies to the PlayStation Plus subscription for the PS4 and PS5, and the Nintendo Online subscription for the Nintendo Switch.

As for Xbox players, an Xbox Live Gold subscription is required for the entire duration of the Early Access period and onwards.

Is there Cross-progression support in Disney Speedstorm?

Yes, cross-progression or cross-save is supported in Disney Speedstorm, even during its Early Access period. However, there are a few points to remember if you want to purchase the Founder’s Pack to be able to play early.

In order to experience cross-save, you will need to purchase a separate Founder’s Pack on each of the platforms that you will be playing on. This way, you will be able to access the Early Access version of the game on these platforms. This will not be relevant upon the game’s full release as it will be a free-to-play game.

After purchasing the Founder’s Packs on your consoles, you will then have to link your profiles through your Gameloft ID account. At this point, you will have to choose which account you would like to keep across your platforms. This part specifically focuses on the content that you get based on the Founder’s Pack tier that you purchased. Not all items can be stacked or converted between platforms, regardless of what tier you purchase; the same goes for pre-order rewards.

You can purchase different tiers between your platforms, but you will still have to decide which account to keep; it will not default to the account that has the highest Founder’s Pack tier tied to it.

When you have selected an account, you can then continue playing it across your different platforms, and all gameplay progress will be synced.
