In Dragon’s Dogma 2, Readvent of Calamity is a main quest where players need to repel a rampaging drake off from the town of Melve. Read ahead as we go through the steps on how to complete the Readvent of Calamity quest in Dragon’s Dogma 2.
How to unlock the Readvent of Calamity quest
The Readvent of Calamity quest can be unlocked after completing the Seat of Sovran quest given by Brant at The Stardrop Inn, and then traveling back to Melve via an oxcart.
How to complete the Readvent of Calamity quest
As you arrive in Melve, you will find that a drake is currently attacking the town and warriors led by Ulrika are trying to fight it off.
Join the fight and target the pustules that are on the drake’s body. These are the drake’s weak points and attacking enough of these will cause the drake to stagger, giving you an opening to deal a critical strike.
You don’t need to kill off the drake for this quest as it will flee after taking enough damage, but successfully killing it will allow you to loot off its corpse, allowing you to get the Dead Ringer duospear which is considered one of the strongest weapons for Mystic Spearhands to have in the early part of the game.
After successfully repelling or killing the drake, you can then talk to Sigurd and unlock the Mystic Spearhands vocation.
A better way to deal with the drake if your party isn’t strong enough for it yet is to go climb the ballista tower in the town and use it to kill the drake. Dealing three good shots with the ballista should be enough to kill the drake.
Visit Melve from time to time
After the drake fight, let a day or two pass and your objectives will be update. Follow the marker that leads to Ulrika’s house. You will overhear a dispute between Ulrika and Martin. After that, Ulrika will invite you to stay for the night.
The following day, you will then talk to Lennart as he reports that Ulrika has gone missing.
Find Ulrika
Your next objective is to find Ulrika, and unfortunately there won’t be a marker to guide you from here. However, you can simply head over to Harve Village, which you may or may not have visited yet as part of the Monster Culling quest from Brant, to get a lead on where Ulrika is.
If you haven’t encountered the Scaly Invaders quest yet, the quest will start as soon as you arrive in Harve Village. Complete the quest by helping out the villagers from fighting off the saurians twice. Once the quest has been completed, you can then find Ulrika in the middle of the village; talk to her to complete the objective.
After talking to Ulrika, head back to Ulrika’s house at Melve and talk to Lennart to complete the entire quest. You will then be rewarded with 2,000 XP and 4,500 G.
