Techland recently shared some details about upcoming Dying Light 2 story DLCs and possibly hints of outlandish content in the future.
Dying Light 2 Story DLCs Adds New Locations
Dying Light 2 Lead Designer Tymon Smektala recently spoke to media outlet VG247 about the upcoming Dying Light 2 story DLCs, which the first one got delayed to September 2022. He revealed that DLC 1 and 2 will take place in different locations, but they will still be within the same universe. They will start in Villedor city, but will change locations at a later part of the DLCs. He does clarify that they are “broadly the same area.”
Five Years Worth of Content
Smektala does say that they have five years-worth of content and in those years, the game will have already grown huge. He also hinted that there will be more locations to explore and more content to introduce, but he cannot discuss the details yet.
To Space or Not?
When asked about the rumors about future DLCs that could introduce locations that would be out of this world like for instance, in space, he jokingly answers, “Don’t expect that [the DLC] will take you to space or something like that. That would maybe happen in year 3 or 4.”
Expectations for Future Content
So there is a chance that this game will take us to space in the future, just like what happened to Dying Light which gave us some really crazy contents along the way. Some examples are an arcade that takes players to a medieval dungeon fighting skeletons, events that would remove gravity, and so much more crazy stuff.
Expect some weird and out of this world contents in the future.
Dying Light 2 is now available on PC, PS4, PS5, Xbox One, and Xbox Series X/S. The first story DLC will be released in September 2022.
