Microsoft has now clarified that the Elden Ring and GTA V Xbox cloud listings that appeared yesterday were a bug.
The bug appeared last night when fans discovered some games like GTA V, Soul Hackers 2, and Elden Ring had an option that allowed them to play them via cloud streaming. Many were excited that this was now an option for some of the top games and it could be rolled out anytime soon, it just appeared early for these games. They speculated the announcement would happen at Gamescom later this month.
Microsoft then spoke with the media outlet Eurogamer to clarify this weird occurrence. They explained that this was a bug and have now released an update to fix the problem.
“We’re aware of a bug that incorrectly displayed some titles as available with Xbox Game Pass Ultimate,” said the spokesperson. “We rolled out a fix and this is now updated.”
After the new update, players have now reported that the cloud streaming feature is gone now for the three games affected. They are still hoping that these games will have the option at a later date.
Guess we will have to wait until Gamescom, Microsoft might make an announcement.
