Linen is a crafting material in Enshrouded that is used to craft most early-to-mid-game gear and is also essential in crafting a backpack upgrade. Read ahead as we talk about how to make Linen and how to farm for it sustainably in Enshrouded.
Rescuing the Hunter
Obtaining Linen starts from rescuing the Athalan Skree the Hunter from the Ancient Vault. Once rescued, you can then start her quest line and follow it until you reach The Hunter’s Hand Spindle where you have to recover the Hand Spindle from an abandoned hunter camp within Diadwyn.
After the hand spindle has been recovered, you can then set it up inside the base to complete the quest. The hand spindle can then be used to craft Linen.
Linen can be crafted by processing Flax, which is a plant that has blue flowers.
Flax can be found growing within the Revelwood Forest.
Flax can also be grown in a base once the Farmer has been rescued. Seedbeds can be crafted from the Farmer and these can be used to grow Flax seedlings which can then be planted, grown, and harvested on a farm plot within a base. 10 Flax Seedlings only need x1 Flax, x2 Water, and 5 minutes to make.
Once flax has been obtained, it can then be processed in the hand spindle to create some Linen. A piece of Linen will need x2 Flax and 10 seconds to make.
Progressing further into the game, you will be able to craft the Spinning Wheel from the Carpenter which can make a piece of Linen with just a single Flax. The only drawback is it takes 30 seconds to make a piece of Linen.
Linen is used for a number of gear and tools in the game.
