October 28, 2017 – When we arrived at the SM Mall of Asia SMX Convention Center, the entrance was crowded as gamers and attendees were excited to get in and explore, play, and experience the ESGS 2017.
Unlike Day 1, the number of people who attended ESGS was impressively massive. Every booth was filled with lines, and the queues for each game demos especially over at the PlayStation and the Monster Hunter booths were insanely longer.
The doors opened for medias and the VIPs early like the first day of ESGS. We were able to play Dissidia: Final Fantasy NT and Dragonball FighterZ before the event floor opened to the public.
On the main stage, people gathered to cheer for their friends who participated and got into the grand finals of the Garrison: Archangel competition, this was then followed by short raffle draw. The MSI booth held another auction as gamers and attendees gathered to participate to get that sweet deal.
At the Indie Arena, we were able to play some awesome games, especially Sinner – a Souls-inspired game that forces the players to sacrifice one of their powerful gears after defeating bosses. Developed by Dark Star and published by Another Indie, the game progression was interesting and unique; instead of leveling your character and get powerful weapons, you instead start with great gears and slowly let them go as you slowly progress in Sinner.
We stumbled over at the Section A area of the show floor where the Assassin’s Creed Origins and Monster Hunter booths were located. With Hi-Rez Studios booth slowly getting more attention, we tried a locally developed fighting game titled Bayani – developed by Ranida Games. We got to talk with Ranida Games about their game Bayani and we’ll have the interview after the event.
As the event moved through with time, ESGS 2017 quickly built its momentum. Everyone was tireless as they stayed in the massive queue just to play the games they’re excited for. But in the end, everyone had fun, there were lots of activities that attendees were able to participate and win prizes and goodies.
It was another successful day for ESGS 2017.
