To be able to access Drift Zones in Forza Horizon 5, players must first earn two Accolade Points and then complete the first Rush PR Stunts Adventure Chapter – The Canyon Expedition. But they’ll take a bit to unlock and you’re gonna need to put some effort as it not readily available for all players. Complete the Canyon Expedition
Once you complete the Canyon Expedition mission, you’ll be able to unlock all the drift zones on the map. Not only will you unlock the drift zones for Forza Horizon 5 once you finish the Canyon Expedition, but you’ll get a neat little variant of the chicken outfit for free called the Fiesta De La Luna Chicken Outfit (image on the right).
After completing the Canyon Expedition, PR Stunts will also be available. Having built the Horizon Rush outpost will also unlock the “Adrenaline Rush” achievement in Forza Horizon 5. Drift zones are needed in order to compete in various Festival Playlist Challenges and in unlocking more of the Accolades.
What Are Drift Zones?
Drift Zones in Forza Horizon 5 are similar to Speed Zones except they’re areas where you drift your car for points. There’ll be turquoise flags which will signify where the player can drift their cars. There will be three target scores and beating the highest one will award you with three stars completing the drift zone.
Tips For Competing in Drift Zones
You need to focus on tuning your car for driving. But first, we need to make sure that you have a car that’s an RWD (rear-wheel drive) which are the best vehicles for this endeavor. Rear-wheel drive is a type of engine and transmission layout for cars in which the engine only drives the rear wheels of the vehicle.
To only show Drift Zones when the map is opened, press RB on the Xbox controller > uncheck “All” and just select “Drift Zones” from the drop down menu > exit the map by pressing the B button, and voila the map will now only show the Drift Zone icons.
This can be done in order to keep the map from becoming too cluttered as more events become available.
