Geoff Keighley has recently announced that he is going to be hosting the Gamescom Opening Night Live this coming August 2023.
According to Keighey’s official Twitter account, he confirmed the return of Opening Night Live but did not share more details. It has been known though that it will be held at Cologne’s Koelnmesse which will kickstart a week of Gamescom. This year it will run from August 23-27, 2023.
After the downfall of E3 this year, it seems other gaming events are taking the spotlight including Keighley’s upcoming Summer Games Fest on June 8, 2023. Gamescom is also making plans to take advantage of the absence.
“Excited to be back in Cologne with the fans and industry, streaming video game news directly to you,” said Keighley in his Twitter post.
With every publisher doing their own events and E3 gone this year, it is up to these upcoming events to pick up the slack. Maybe they will offer better coverage than what E3 had planned before.
