For some reason, the Grand Theft Auto V discounted versions for the PS5 are still not showing up on the PlayStation Store.
Players who want to take advantage of the discounts that Rockstar Games offered for PlayStation fans are now in a pickle as they could not see the discounted version of the game for the PS5 on the PSN store. It would have been more convenient for them since they can just access it online.
The same thing is happening for PS4 owners trying to check out the discounted PS5 version of the game on the PS4 store. It simply does not show up there. Other games with its PS5 versions can be bought on the PS4 without any problems.
Fans suspect the PS5 version of the game can only be bought via the PS5 console store. It seems to be locked there and the only way to buy it is through there. It seems Sony Interactive Entertainment is forcing the buyers to have a PS5 console so they can access the discount on that platform only.
Those who do not have a PS5 yet are now looking for a PS5 to buy so they can just get the discounted version. They are scrambling around now since the discount is only limited until June 14, 2022. After that, they will have to purchase it for a full price.
Some speculate SIE is doing this on purpose so that PS5 owners will only be the ones to take advantage of the discounts. This would also force others to buy a PS5 console just to take advantage of the discount since there is no other way to buy the discounted version anywhere.
No official statement yet from SIE.
Grand Theft Auto V is now available on PC, PS4, PS5, Xbox Series X/S and Xbox One.
