Crossed Wands: Round 1 is one of the side quests that players can complete in Hogwarts Legacy. In this side quest, players get to meet Lucan Brattleby, another student who organizes friendly duels for other students, and they also get to participate in the duelling club.

How to unlock Crossed Wands: Round 1 side quest
To unlock the Crossed Wands: Round 1 side quest, you must first complete the Defence Against the Dark Arts Class main quest.

After the player completes the Defence Against the Dark Arts Class main quest, Lucan Brattleby will then be available to talk to in the Clock Tower Entrance of the South Wing of the castle. Talk to Lucan to start the side quest.
Talk to Lucan Brattleby
Go to the South Wing and look for Lucan Brattleby. Talk to Lucan and he will reveal that he’s the one organizing the duels for their duelling club called the Crossed Wands.
Afterwards, you’ll be set for your very first match. In this match, you’ll be paired with Sebastian duelling against two other students.
Your opponents will be using yellow shields, so to dispel these shields, use your Control spells like Levioso. Once their shield is down, continue attacking them with your basic wand attack until their health is depleted. You’ll win the round once both opponents have been defeated.
Since you’ll be fighting against two opponents, it’s best to practice using the lock-on button which will help you later on in much challenging fights.
If you want to duel again, you can talk to Lucan once more. You can also bring a friend as your duel partner or just join a duel on your own.
