How to Beat Clawroline in Kirby and the Forgotten Land
To Beat Clawroline in Kirby and the Forgotten Land, you have to win against Clawroline’s fights which happens in two phases. She goes into her second phase once her health reaches <40%.
How to beat Clawroline Phase 1
Clawroline will mostly be doing claw swipes and dashes.
- Claw Swipe – Clawroline reveals her claws for a moment before she moves forward while swiping her claws one by one. She can end the attack with a third swipe with both of her claws. Move away from her once her claws are out and don’t stop moving until she’s done with her attack. You can also hover to avoid her claws.
- Somersault Claw Slash – She will jump into the air twice before slashing downwards with her claws. The impact will also release a shockwave ring around her. Once she reaches the peak of her second jump, move away from where you are standing and prepare to jump over the shockwave.
- Dash Slash – Lights will go out except for a spotlight shining down on her. She will cross her arms while preparing, and then dashes at your direction as she slashes her claws. If she is positioned at the edge of the platform, simply run perpendicular to her path. If she is at the center of the platform while preparing for this attack, hover to avoid getting hit. Pay attention as there is a flash bear her eyes right before she dashes. You can use this to time when to jump to avoid her claws.
How to beat Clawroline Phase 2
Clawroline will do more attacks while high up the struts.
- Sword Throw – Clawroline jumps up one of the struts and then proceeds to throw swords down at your direction. She may also jump to another strut during this attack. Simply move without stopping to avoid getting hit by the swords. The swords that she throws can be sucked to get the Sword copy ability which can be used to defend from her follow up attack.
- Dive Slash – She will show her claws again as she prepares to leap. The spotlight will then point at your position right before she dives at you while slashing. The impact will cause two shockwave rings. Pay attention to the impact ring that appears as she jumps from the strut. You can use this to time your jump as she dives to avoid the shockwaves that follow. You may also get the Sword ability to use its shield to guard from the dive. She will be stuck for a few seconds upon impact which is a good opening to attack back.
- Shadow Strike – The spotlight will shine on Clawroline as she goes invisible. The spotlight then splits into three as they revolve in a circle before combining back into one. Clawroline will then re-appear and do a dash slash towards your position. Time your evade as soon as the spotlight recombines or you can also hover to avoid the slash.
Optional Missions for Danger under the Big Top stage

- Defeat without hovering
- Clear within 1:30
- Clear without taking any damage
Clawroline Boss Fight Tips
- It would be easier to do the without hovering challenge and the no damage challenge on separate runs.
- The recommended copy ability will be the Ranger ability to be able to fulfill the mission and so that you can aim at Clawroline while she is up.
- Once you have fulfilled the Ranger mission, you can drop the ability and pick up the Sword ability to be able to block against her dives.
- It’s recommended to go for the sword copy ability to shield against Clawroline’s attacks if you are aiming to complete the no hovering challenge or no damage challenge.
