How to Beat Puzzle Knight in Shovel Knight Pocket Dungeon
Beating Puzzle Knight will take a few steps such as making sure you stick to Puzzle Knight’s sides, destroying lightbulbs, and more. Unlike many other bosses you’ll encounter in Shovel Knight Pocket Dungeon, Puzzle Knight is a random duel.
This makes it great for preparation as you’ll know when and where you’ll encounter this foe. However, you’ll find that the Puzzle Knight can be more challenging than any other foe you’ll encounter.
Here are the steps in beating Puzzle Knight in Shovel Knight Pocket Dungeon:
Stick to Puzzle Knight’s Sides
To start with Puzzle Knight can swing his compass on a 3×3 grid in any direction he is facing. You’d be best advised to stick to his sides and rear to avoid his constant attacks. Facing him upfront is a death sentence.
Destroy the Light Bulb
At the start of Puzzle Knight’s boss fight, there’ll be a light bulb. You should immediately break this as there is no way to damage Puzzle Knight while he’s on this grid. The light bulb will frequently appear back during your fight with Puzzle Knight so take any opportunity to break this bulb whenever you can.
Keep Attacking
Speed is important in this fight. You’ll have to constantly get the edge on Puzzle Knight by attacking him whenever he’s vulnerable.
Avoid Puzzle Knight’s AoE Attack
At some point during your fight with Puzzle Knight, he’ll do a very telegraphed AoE on a 5×5 radius around himself. This goes for all directions so sticking to his sides or rear won’t help you this time. Stay as far away from Puzzle Knight during his spell cast which should be obvious.
