Survival games often have an ebb and flow when it comes to their progression, referred to as the player’s technological level. This is determined by the amount of resources they harvest and what else they can refine from it. However, there exist pieces of lost technology that throw a curve into one’s otherwise perfect designs. These are called the Ancient Civilization Part. And they will require you to venture out and look for them if you want to advance your tech even further.
In this guide, I’ll tell you what Ancient Civilization Parts and where you can find them in the world. It’s not as tough as it seems but you’ll need to step up your game if you want a constant supply of the precious resource which the game remains vague about.
What are Ancient Civilization Parts in Palworld?
According to the game, Ancient Civilization Parts are the debris excavated from ancient ruins. Far from being useless, these relics of the past allow players to create some of the game’s most advanced technology further along the tech tree. Even though they are needed for advanced constructs, there’s no reason why you shouldn’t be hoarding them as soon as you get your hands on them.
The first item you might see using this resource is the Mega Shield. It will require 5 Ancient Civilization Parts to produce but the protection it offers is greater than that of the Common Shield. That’s just the tip of the iceberg. After you’ve entered into the mid-game, the demand for the parts will increase significantly.
How to get Ancient Civilization Parts
There are two proven ways to collect Ancient Civilization Parts in Palworld: Alpha Pals and Dungeon Bosses. I don’t know what part these devices have in strengthening Alpha Pals but conversations from NPCs suggest that Dungeon Bosses tend to surround themselves with powerful items.
Alpha Pals are usually marked on the map and they are very much more powerful compared to your regular everyday Pal. The good news is that you are made aware of the power level of these alphas. Choose at your discretion which Pals you think you can take down. And don’t worry about missing a part if you decide to capture them, you’ll still get the part regardless.
Dungeons are a more complicated beast to tackle. They are not marked on the map, often relying on the player to place personal markers to keep track of their location. The entrances are also on a timer, meaning they will close according to the countdown timer you see before entering. Lastly, they are often long and twisted to the point that even if you come back for a repeat run later on, you can still get lost every so often.
If you somehow make it to the dungeon’s boss and successfully defeat it, (or capture it) you will be rewarded with (an) Ancient Civilization Part(s).
There might be other ways to get Ancient Civilization Parts. Perhaps from treasure chests and the roaming vendor. I haven’t visited many vendors but I can assume that something like that is going to fetch a high asking price. Oh well. Desperate times and all that.
That’s how to get Ancient Civilization Parts and what they are used for in the game. If you would like to see more guides and walkthroughs, make sure to check out our main page for Palworld.
