How to Pair PS5 DualSense with Android and iOS iPhone

How to Pair PS5 DualSense with Android

Connecting the PS5 DualSense controller with an Android phone is relatively simple. But you need to ensure that you have at least Android version 10 or 11 for the best compatibility. Version 12 of Android brings more function to the PS5 DualSense, but it isn’t necessary. Here are the steps you need to follow.

    1. Go to the Google Play Store on your Android
    2. Look up PS Remote Play and download it.
    3. Turn on your PS5 and go to the Settings.
    4. On Settings, select System.
    5. On System, select Remote Play.
    6. You’ll see the Remote Play Disabled by default. Enable it.
    7. Go to Link Device and you’ll see a code.
    8. Go back to your phone and open the PS Remote Play application.
    9. The PS Remote Play app will ask for credentials. Login with your PSN ID. You will now be logged into the PlayStation Network.
    10. Enter the number you saw on the Link Device screen on your PS5.
    11. On your PS5 DualSense press the PS button in the center.
    12. Go to the Accessories on the right side with the controller icon.
    13. Turn off your Wireless Controller. This will disconnect the PS5 DualSense from the console.
    14. On your phone, make sure that your Bluetooth settings are enabled.
    15. On your PS5 DualSense Controller, press and hold Create button and the PS button at the same time until the light flashes. This will indicate that it is ready to be paired.
    16. Pair your PS5 DualSense Controller with your Android’s Bluetooth.
    17. Open the PS Remote Play app again and start playing.

In order to play on your Android with the DualSense with no problems, ensure that there isn’t a USB cable connected to your controller. This will automatically connect that controller somewhere else. Keep in mind that your controller can only be paired with a single device one at a time.

How to Pair PS5 DualSense with iOS iPhone

Connecting your PS5 DualSense controller on you iOS isn’t too different from doing it on the Android. However, depending on the device you have certain features may not be available. Here are the steps to connecting the PS5 DualSense to your iOS.

    1. Enable your phone’s Bluetooth.
    2. On your PS5 DualSense controller press and hold the Create and PS button until the light starts blinking. Make sure it isn’t paired first with any device by turning it off from your PS5.
    3. On your phone, look for the DualSense controller to pair them together. You should know it works when the controller lights up.
    4. Open your PS Remote Play and start playing.

What’s Compatible with the PS5 DualSense Controller in Remote Play?

Sony has announced that with the Android 12 version, the PS5 DualSense controller has been more compatible than ever. From its touchpad to battery indicator, the PS Remote Play is better than ever.

You can now experience haptic feedback, adaptive triggers, and access the DualSense’s microphone. This is of course if you have Android 12. Depending on your mobile, compatibility may vary.

Connect PS5 DualSense without PS Remote Play

    PS Remote

Now you don’t necessarily need a PS Remote Play to connect your PS5 DualSense. If you want to use your current gen controller to play other mobile games not in your PlayStation account, you can more than do so. However, you may need a third party app to configure the controller. There are only a few mobile games that offer compatibility for the PS5 DualSense such as Call of Duty Mobile. Here are the steps to connect your PS5 DualSense without PS Remote Play.

    • Go to the game you want to play.
    • Check and see if it has controller compatibility.
    • If it does, pair your PS5 DualSense controller and configure it via in-game settings.
    • If it doesn’t, you’re going to have to go to the Google Play Store and find an app that can configure your controller for games.

If you’re playing on an iOS, it may be more challenging to look for apps that can configure your PS5 DualSense controller as Apple seems to be strict on those type of applications. So if you’re playing on an iOS you’re better off playing games with full controller compatibility. This is, of course, subject to change in the future.

And there you have it, now you know how to connect your PS5 DualSense controller with your mobile phone. For more tutorials, feel free to stay with us here in Sirus Gaming! We hoped this helped you.
