You have to complete specific challenges or purchase a bundle with the Chimera blueprint in the in-game store to unlock it. There are multiple ways to easily unlock the Chimera in Modern Warfare 2. Here is how you can get it:
Modern Warfare 2 / Warzone 2.0
You can unlock the Chimera by getting 2 kills with assault rifles in 15 different matches. This is the fastest way to unlock this assault rifle in Modern Warfare 2 and in Warzone 2.0. Picking up any assault rifle and getting two kills and then dropping out the match will count towards completing the challenge. Although this will negatively impact your team and Win/Loss ratio.
DMZ
Get the Chimera from Building 21 and then extract the match. Unfortunately this isn’t possible yet, as Building 21 has yet to be added to the DMZ game mode. We’ll notify you if this changes.
The Store
Purchase any bundle that offers the Chimera Blueprint. One such bundle is the Chimera Skies that comes with the Chimera Darkcell weapon blueprint for 1,200 COD Points which is about $12 USD.
The fastest way to unlock the Chimera in Modern Warfare 2 is by playing multiplayer. Either the classic Modern Warfare 2 multiplayer game modes of Warzone 2.0 will do. Just pick up an assault rifle and get 2 kills in 15 different matches and you’ll unlock the Chimera weapon blueprint.

Otherwise known as “the Honey Badger,” the Chimera is equipped with slow, high-energy .300 BLK Subsonic Ammo that doesn’t leave any traces so it makes it difficult to track your location.
The standard Chimera blueprints carries 30 rounds with 60 in the reserve and has an incredibly high fire rate. To compensate, you won’t have as much range which makes it a disadvantage to take on enemies from too far away.
