A new report claims that Insomniac Games, the makers of Marvel’s Spider-Man, Ratchet & Clank, and more, is developing a third AAA PS5 exclusive aside from the upcoming titles known so far.
Insomniac Games Working on Another Game?
It seems Insomniac Games is developing not one, not two, but three titles this year and this one is a AAA PS5 exclusive, just like its other PlayStation first exclusives. Aside from Marvel’s Spider-Man 2 which is launching in a couple of months and Marvel’s Wolverine (still without a release window), there is a third unannounced project currently in production. Former Blizzard staff Erin Eberhardt has recently teased the title as part of a Full Sail University seminar, which has been shared online. She is currently working for Insomniac Games as its project director.
Teasing New Game
During the meeting, Eberhardt mentioned twice that the game is still unannounced and she cannot talk about it, so this is not Marvel’s Wolverine or Marvel’s Spider-Man 2 which both have been announced already. At the same time, the former still has only a few details mentioned. She did drop a hint that the game is a AAA title and she stresses that much.
Might be Multiplayer
While Erin did not mention anything else during the meeting, it is clear that Insomniac Games is working hard this year with more games to be introduced to the fans. A few years ago, the developer was looking for a developer for a multiplayer game and Sony has been looking for a multiplayer hit so if we connect the three details, this next game might be multiplayer-focused.
Insomniac Games will announce this new IP sooner or later so we’ll wait and see.
