LEGO Fortnite: How to get Blast Core

LEGO Fortnite has items that are a little harder to find than others, like the Blast Core. It’s one of the trickiest resources in the game to find and will require a little bit more effort on your part. However, it’s worth finding it because of how useful it is when crafting. Read on, and this guide will show you how to get Blast Cores in LEGO Fortnite.

    How to get Blast Cores

You can retrieve Blast Cores as drops by killing Blasters in LEGO Fortnite’s lava caves, which are located in the Dry Valley biome. You have to take them out before they explode, since you’ll lose the Blast Core if you do so. Blasters will self-destruct once they are low on health or get near a certain distance from your character.

From my experience, Blaster mobs exploding prematurely doesn’t necessarily mean that the Blast Core will be destroyed if you’re lucky. Sometimes they do drop, but they can be repositioned out of reach. One time, a Blast Core flew to the lava, where I was unable to pick it up.

The best way to get rid of Blasters is by using ranged weapons to take them out before they get near you. What makes this difficult is that you have to do it pretty fast because they’ll explode and risk destroying everything, including the Blast Core, once you’re close to defeating them. They’re also often surrounded by mobs who are chucking dynamite at you.

Fighting Blaster mobs requires journeying into the lava caves found in the Dry Valley biome in LEGO Fortnite. It’ll be quite a bit away from the Grasslands biome where you always spawn at the beginning. And without heat resistance, you’ll burn to death right away. Make sure to get some charms and food items before venturing inside, so you can last long enough to get what you need.

Blast Cores can be used to create Metal Smelters which allow you to melt down metal like Copper into useful bars in order to create weapons, tools, and even infrastructure. You’ll need x3 Blast Cores along with, x35 Obsidian Slabs, and x15 Brightcores to build a Metal Smelter.
