How to Fix High Complexity Area Error in LEGO Fortnite

LEGO Fortnite requires an online connection to play, and this can lead to various issues, such as encountering the High Complexity Area error when the servers are not working in tip-top shape. If you’re eager to get back and play, addressing this error is the first step, but regrettably, there isn’t a straightforward solution available.

Building is the bread and butter of LEGO Fortnite. Without it, you can’t progress in the game at all and are pretty much stuck. Players who receive the High Complexity Area error in LEGO Fortnite are experiencing an inability to build which locks their entire progress.

How to fix the High Complexity Area error

There is no official fix for the High Complexity Area error in LEGO Fortnite at the time of this writing. However, there are several things you can try, such as restarting your game, which may work for you.

The High Complexity Area error gives you the message to “remove builds or move away,” which is a confusing statement that doesn’t tell you anything. It’s unpredictable and can prevent you from building new structures or possibly crashing the game. This error mainly happens on consoles, but you may encounter it on other devices.

High Complexity Area error in LEGO Fortnite

Here are several steps you can take to fix the High Complexity Area error:

    • Step 1: The first thing to try is a good old fashion restart. Exit your LEGO world and go back to the lobby then wait for a bit before loading back in. This issue seems to work for some players who get the High Complexity Area error. If the issue persists, then you may have to restart Fortnite.
    • Step 2: Check to see if your internet connection isn’t the issue. If your net is fine, then you may have to restart your consoles or whatever device you’re playing on.
    • Step 3: If your still getting the High Complexity Area error despite doing all of the above, then you may have to do a hard reset and start a new world in LEGO Fortnite. It’s a hard thing to go back to the beginning but it will let you play the game at least until Epic Games addresses the issue so you can go back and play in your old world.
