RGG Studio has recently announced a new spin-off title from the Yakuza series, Like a Dragon Gaiden The Man Who Erases His Name.

Like a Dragon Gaiden The Man Who Erased His Name was the third title that was announced during the RGG Summit 2022. This is the spin-off title that will feature former Yakuza gangster Kiryu Kazuma after the events of Yakuza 6: The Song of Life until Like a Dragon 8.
Announcement Trailer Highlights
The latest trailer featured Kiryu sitting in a mysterious monastery and being disciplined by an elder monk. While it seems he has now left behind his old lifestyle, the monk knows better and says that he could not still renounce his past. After the discipline, a man appears behind Kiryu and it seems he is from the Daidoji family. He is “asking” Kiryu, now known as Johryu, for a favor.
Bigger than a DLC, Smaller than a Full Game
According to the developers, Like a Dragon Gaiden will be smaller in scale but bigger than a DLC. It will have action-adventure brawling gameplay as opposed to the new RPG style.
Release Date and Platforms
Like a Dragon Gaiden The Man Who Erased His Name launches in 2023. It will be available on PC, PS4, PS5, Xbox One, and Xbox Series X/S.
