2K Games announced recently their new Marvel game, entitled The Midnight Suns. The Midnight Suns is a new tactical game set in the darker side of the Marvel Universe, putting you face-to-face against demonic forces of the Underworld as you team up with and live among the Midnight Suns, Earth’s last line of defense.
The trailer in the game featured some of the Marvel heroes who will be present but some of which people may not be familiar with. Here is a list of all the characters that will be present in the new upcoming Marvel game.
BLADE
Blade (aka Eric Brooks) is a very fierce and agile hero in Marvel Universe. He is known to many as a vampire hunter who uses any means to kill off the undead. Due to an enzyme in his bloodstream resultant from his mother’s being bitten by a vampire while giving birth to him, Blade is immune to the bites of typical, supernatural vampires. In certain instances, he also appeared immune to vampire hypnosis as well. He lacked superhuman physical attributes, however, and relied solely on his considerable skill and determination until Morbius, the Living Vampire, an atypical, scientifically created vampire, bit him and turned Blade into something resembling a dhampir.
Ever since then, Blade has gained superhuman strength, stamina, speed, agility, heightened senses, and a rapid healing factor that attacks any foreign substances in his body. The healing factor also eliminates any chance of him being rendered helpless or maimed from the inside. Blade is unaffected by daylight and most other traditional vampire weaknesses. He also ages very slowly and can preternaturally sense supernatural activity.
Ghost Rider
There have been many Ghost Riders in the Marvel Universe but nothing says dangerous than the newest Ghost Rider, Robbie Reyes. Robbie first appeared in Marvel comics as a troubled youth who relied on drag racing to support his handicapped brother, both medically and financially. Until one day, while being trailed by an unknown military group, his car was possessed by a demonic aura that granted him the powers of the Ghost Rider. Armed with superhuman strength, regenerative healing, and demonic magic, Robbie Reyes can slay any demon and perform dark arts at the cost of his own sanity.
X-MEN
Marvel’s team of mutants will be joining as well in Midnight Suns with Wolverine, the immortal berserker of the team with adamantium claws and extreme healing factor, and Magik, sister to Colossus, mutant teleporter and demonic sorceress who wields a giant magic sword. Both mutants have a past related to demons and such and are the perfect choices to join the Midnight Suns.
AVENGERS
Earth’s Mightiest Heroes will be appearing in Midnight Suns with Captain Marvel, Captain America, Iron Man, and Dr. Strange making their appearances in the game. Doctor Strange will likely be one of the key characters in the game. After all, he is the Sorcerer Supreme and will most likely be asking the help of the other mystics in preparing for the final fight against the forces of Darkness.
NICO MINORU
Debuting in Marvel’s Runaways, the teenage witch is set to debut in the Marvel Gaming Universe as this teenage witch will be tasked to support the other mystics such as Doctor Strange and Magik in overcoming the odds.
Nico Minoru has an aptitude for the magical arts but did not receive any formal training. So far, she has relied on the Staff of One to work magic. After her encounter with Witchbreaker, her abilities were augmented so that she can create smaller magical effects without the aid of the staff. She can freely float, although this ability is not as useful as actual flight requires a spell. She can cast spells to change her surroundings, such as transforming the inside of a building.
Hunter
Hunter is an all-new original character who will be fully customizable, both in abilities and appearance. According to the developers, the goal is to enable players to truly immerse themselves into the world, to be part of the world’s story as their own avatar, instead of taking on a previously established persona.
With all these heroes that will be present in Marvel and 2K Games’ Midnight Suns, many fans will be having a great time knowing who will face the darker side of Marvel’s universe.
Midnight Suns is expected to be released in March 2022 for the PC, PS4, Xbox Series, and Nintendo Switch. More gameplay will be revealed on September 1st, so stay tuned for more articles about it.
