Director Jordon Vogt-Roberts is happy to report that the Metal Gear movie adaptation’s script is now finalized.
Metal Gear movie script is great
Vogt-Roberts told a publication in an interview that the final script that he got from the scriptwriter was the best he had ever read. He noted that it had been undergoing a rework since August of last year to suit the game’s tone. They want to ensure that it is in line with what the fans have come to expect from the popular video game series.
The scriptwriter for the movie based on Metal Gear is Derek Connolly. He joined the team in November 2017. He has worked with Vogt-Roberts in the past writing the script for another popular movie Kong: Skull Island. He is also known for his work on Jurassic World.
True to the source
The director stated that he is going the extra mile to make this movie work and true to the source material. He wants this to be the best game-to-movie adaptation, even if it means taking a financial hit on the project.
Let’s really think about whether we’re making the truest, most b*lls-to-the-wall Metal Gear version of this–the most Kojima version of this, and even if that means we make it for a little bit less money, let’s make the version of this that’s true to what it is, fully committed to what Kojima’s voice is, Vogt-Roberts said.
