Metroid Prime Remastered Flaahgra Boss Guide

Flaahgra is one of the bosses that Samus must defeat in Metroid Prime Remastered. Considered as the main boss of the Chozo Ruins, this monstrous plant has been mutated by getting exposed to Phazon and it has now spread it roots and vines to poison all of the water surrounding the ruins.

Read ahead as we go through the Flaahgra boss fight and share tips on how to win the fight easily.

    How to reach Flaahgra

Make your way into the Arboretum or the room that has a giant tree in the middle of it. In here, you will need to find four runes scattered in the room and scan all of them to activate the door. If you have made the detour in the Watery Hall just prior to this, you will know what runes to look for.

    How to reach Flaahgra

The first rune is count on a platform on the water level on the left side; shoot the weeds around it to reveal it.

Continue up the left ramp and you will see the second rune on the trunk of the tree.

Keep going up the side of the wall and use Morph Ball to go cross the crevice to the other side. As you get out of the crevice, look to your left and you should see the third rune by the steps ahead.

On the next crevice that you see, consider scanning the Venom Weeds first before shooting them.

Once you hit the end of the path, turn around and jump up to the higher ledge and you should see the final rune on the side of the tree.

Once you have all four runes scanned, you can then access the door up ahead that will lead you closer to Flaahgra.

    How to defeat Flaahgra

Consider scanning the boss and its tentacle first before engaging it to add to your completion.

How to defeat Flaahgra - Metroid Prime Remastered

According to Flaahgra’s logs, it draws power from the sun, so your first objective is to cut off its power source. To do that, you need to shoot the base of the mirror pointing sunlight at Flaahgra to tilt the mirror away from the boss’ base.

This will make the boss fall down for a few moments and its tentacle will be retracted, revealing a ball slot. Go to the ball slot to make the boss explode.

This process will repeat three more times, with each turn adding one more mirror to tilt up. Additionally, Flaahgra can hit the mirrors back down, undoing your work. In order to prevent this, use your missiles to temporarily stun the boss after tipping one or two mirrors, then carry on with the rest of the mirrors to bring the boss down once again.

After the fourth cycle, the boss will be fully defeated. You can then acquire the Varia Suit by grabbing the upgrade by the exit.
