Naughty Dog’s planned downloadable content became a full standalone Uncharted spin-off. The studio hopes that fresh players who will play Uncharted: The Lost Legacy first will discover their masterpiece franchise through it.
Josh Scherr, one of the co-writers of Uncharted: The Lost Legacy, stated in an interview with VentureBeat that Uncharted: The Lost Legacy is not just for the fans of the series but to also welcome new players.

Uncharted: The Lost Legacy could be a great start for newcomers in the series and will get that sense of discover that this is just a spin-off from a successful franchise.
Uncharted: The Lost Legacy will launch on August 22 exclusively on PS4.
