After several review bombings on Steam, Square Enix will finally release a new update for NieR: Automata on the platform.
The official Twitter account of the franchise recently reported the latest news about the upgrade patch. It will be released on Steam at a later date as it is still in development. The development team behind it promised that there will be more information to share later on.

This started after someone discovered that the Steam version of the game was quite the inferior version compared to the Windows Store one. It had several issues and did not get any bug or performance issue fixes. Since then, it was review bombed on Steam and it seems Square Enix finally listened to the fans.
The Become as Gods Edition actually had a lot of improvements that made it quite enjoyable to play like FidelityFX, HDR, and 4K upscaled UI and textures. It is still getting updates too.
NieR: Automata is now available on PC, PlayStation 4, and Xbox One.
