Redress the Sun is one of the optional side quests in Nightingale where Danu offers her help by sharing how to create the offering that the Sun Giants will accept. This is the second part of the quest chain for the peaceful route in obtaining the Pellucidic Etched Ingot for the Gateway to The Watch quest, and it is the quest required in unlocking The Friend of the Grendels Achievement. Read ahead as we go through the steps on how to complete the Blinding Sounds quest in Nightingale.
How to unlock the “Redress the Sun” quest
The Redress the Sun quest will be available as soon as you complete Danu’s Blinding Sounds quest. Danu can be found at the Swamp Gloom realm just outside her hut. Partaking in this quest is optional, but completing it will give out additional rewards, plus it unlocks the Friend of the Grendels Achievement.
Prepare your offering to the Sun Giants
The first thing to do is to craft Danu’s Cauldron using the following materials:
- x2 Etched Ingot
- x2 Fasteners
- x1 Ornament
Etched Ingots, Fasteners, and Ornaments can be crafted at the Brazier for x2 Ingots for each piece, requiring x10 Ingots in total.
Once Danu’s Cauldron has been crafted, place it near a Refined Workbench and you will be able to craft the Ritual Curio Configuration from the workbench. The Ritual Curio Configuration requires the following materials:
- x1 Cut Gem
- x1 Plant Fibre
- x1 Precious Metal Etched Ingot
The Precious Metal Etched Ingot can be crafted from a Brazier using any two Ingots as piece.
Once you have the Ritual Curio Configuration, head back to Danu and show the offering to her to complete the quest and unlock the Friend of the Grendels Achievement.
After showing the offering to Danu, you can then head to a Desert Hunt realm to find a Sun Giant. Use your Spyglass in order to find a Sun Giant easily. Also, make sure to disarm your companion before approaching the giant to prevent your companion from attacking it.
Once you see a Sun Giant, approach it carefully and it will reach out its hand to you. Interact with the hand and then you can place the Ritual Curio Configuration in it. The giant will then give you the Pellucidic Etched Ingot. Hand over the Pellucidic Etched Ingot to Nellie Bly to fulfill the objective for the Gateway to The Watch quest.
