Here are the characters you can recruit to your party and their jobs in Octopath Traveler:

Like its predecessor, there are eight Octopath 2 heroes that you can play as in the game. Each of them have their own jobs and specialties which gives them a unique function in any team composition. Each of the Octopath 2 heroes have their own storylines that you can tackle after recruiting them to your party.
Agnea
A dancer from Cropdale in the Leaflands seeking her fame, Agnea Bristarni is a cheery girl who wishes to follow her mother’s footsteps. Don’t mistake her happy attitude for weakness as she is more than willing to throw down in fights when provoked. Agnea is the youngest of the Octopath 2 characters being only 18 years old.
Agnea is a dancer who can use Wind elemental attacks. She’s very good with using knives and kicks, but she’s also a boon to any party thanks to her ability to buff them. With her unique talent, Allure, she can summon townsfolk during combat for support.
Castti
With a heart as golden as her hair, Castti Florenz is an apothecary who has lost her memories. She had no recollection of her past prior to waking up on a boat after being saved by its friendly crew members and journeys to remember who she was. Despite this, she will not hesitate to put her life on the line to save those who need her help along the way.
Castti is an apothecary who has Ice magic at her disposal. She can use her skills to heal her team and ease the pain of townspeople during the night using her unique talent, Soothe.
Hikari
The younger prince of the Ku Klan in Hinoeuma, Hikari Ku is a warrior who wishes nothing but the best for his people. He journeys to ensure that his people are no longer burdened by the endless battle that his lands are involved in. Despite his lithe stature, he’s the toughest hero in the Octopath 2 characters.
Hikari is a warrior prince who’s best used as a tank thanks to his high HP. Using his unique talent, Challenge, he can use the skills of the townsfolk he bested in fair combat during the day.
Ochette
Desperate to save her hometown of Toto’haha, the usually carefree Ochette sets out on a journey to stop the Night of the Scarlet Moon calamity by gathering the three creatures of legend. She is a Beastling with a big appetite and usually does all she can for food.
Ochette is a hunter who can capture monsters, discard them, and cook them into unique items. Her ability to do so may be the key for getting powerful items for your party.
Osvald
Imprisoned for killing his wife and daughter, Osvald V. Vanstein spends the rest of his days in the Winterlands prison whose frigid cells have not extinguished his desire for revenge. In truth, Osvald was framed by his former associated, Harvey, who left him to rot for 1,879 days in his cold prison cell. He now seeks to escape the prison and get his revenge against the man who took everything from him.
Osvald is a scholar who is adept in magic allowing him to have a versatile arsenal to hit foes’ weaknesses. His talent, Study Foe, compliments this as he can discern enemy weaknesses and exploit them.
Partitio
With the lofty goal of creating a world free from poverty, Partitio Yellowil seeks to bring prosperity to all. After witnessing his father cheated out of the land he owned and driven into poverty, he knows exactly the pain of those in the lower classes. This is a man who cares deeply for his employees and is quite altruistic.
Partitio is capable in combat with the polearm and bow despite his class as a merchant. His unique talent, Business Partners, allows him and his party to get discounts at shops or even refunds at inns after hiring the townsfolk during nighttime.
Temenos
A high ranking inquisitor of the church in Crestlands, Temenos Mistral isn’t completely convinced of his faith. He is quite competent despite his easy going personality. Though a tragic incident at the church implores him to solve the mystery behind it.
Temenos is a cleric who can heal and even revive teammates during combat. He’s much more powerful at night thanks to his talent, Moonlight Judgement, which lets him weaken foes when the sun is down. It goes well with his latent ability, Judgment, which lets him break enemy defenses.
Throné
A prominent member of the Blacksnakes thieves guild, Throné Anguis desperately wishes to break the cycle of violence that revolves around her life. She is a woman who is no stranger to pain thanks to the hands of her abusive parents. She now seeks the keys to her freedom even if it means destroying the Blacksnakes guild.
Throné is a thief who excels with swords and daggers. Her talent, Blessing of Darkness, allows her to buff allies during nighttime battles and even knock out enemies to avoid combat entirely.
