Game company Blizzard has officially confirmed that popular online multiplayer Overwatch will be getting its cross-play feature soon.
Players are expected to prepare for cross-play as it will be implemented soon by Blizzard in its latest news update. It will be powered by the latest global Battle.net update and offers players the ability to team up from all over the world regardless of platform.
Cross-play for the game will only need players to have an account on Battle.net and their link to their appropriate console accounts. During its launch, those who have logged into the game by the end of 2021 will get a Golden Loot Box.
Here are the specific steps to follow in order to prepare for cross-play:
Prepare Your Account
All console players will be required to make a Battle.net account and link it to their console (Xbox, PSN, Nintendo) account. PC players do not need to take this step – You already have a Battle.net account. Upon launching the game, you will be prompted to link your console account to a Battle.net account. Follow the steps below to create a Battle.net account, then link your console game account to your Battle.net account.
