Payday 3: Under the Surphaze Spectrophotometer Location

The spectrophotometer may sound like a mouthful, but you’ll need it to look for the genuine painting of Uma Ladette in Payday 3’s Under the Surphaze heist. Now, I’m willing to bet that you don’t know what a spectrophotometer looks like and probably haven’t heard of it until now. The spectrophotometer isn’t marked on the screen, so you will have to look for it.

If you don’t have the slightest clue where to find the spectrophotometer in Payday 3’s Under the Surphaze heist, read our guide for quick and easy intel.

Where is the Spectrophotometer in Payday 3?

The spectrophotometer can be found in the server room on the second floor of the Surphaze Art Gallery. Go inside the office hallway and read the placards to find the room. Lockpick the door and pick up the spectrophotometer at the back of the room.

You’ll easily recognize the spectrophotometer since it looks like a camera on a large tripod. It’s also highlighted in yellow once you get close enough. Once you pick it up, it’ll be carried over your shoulder like any cash bag and can be thrown to the ground.

    Payday 3 Spectrophotometer

The spectrophotometer isn’t the only key item you’ll need to get the real Uma Ladette. You need to grab the USB drive from the manager’s office, which is inside a secret safe. Once you have the spectrophotometer and the USB drive, you can get the Uma Ladette.

How to Use the Spectrophotometer in Payday 3?

The spectrophotometer is unique to Payday 3’s Under the Surphaze heist, which you’ll eventually use to find the real painting of Uma Ladette and progress through your objectives. Go to one of the Uma Ladette paintings and cut a hole in the glass. Then, place the spectrophotometer in front of it to start the scan. If the painting is authentic, then the screen on the spectrophotometer will tell you so.

Stealing the Uma Ladette painting is one of the last objectives of Under the Surphaze. You can find out where the Uma Ladette painting is being held in the Surphaze Art Gallery by going to the manager’s office and reading their emails. The exhibition area, the Uma Ladette, is being held; it is randomized per playthrough of the Under the Surphaze heist.

    Payday 3 Uma Ladette

There are two Uma Ladette paintings, but you can only use the USB drive on one of them. If you pick up the fake Uma Ladette painting, it’ll dissolve into flames, and you won’t be able to pick it up.

Once you get the real Uma Ladette painting, there’s really no point in keeping the spectrophotometer around. Stash it in the van and make your escape when you’re ready.
