    PhilGA: Gaming Convention 2016 – Tournament Winners

    The Philippine Gaming Association or PhilGA recently held it’s biggest gaming event the Gaming Convention 2016 last December 17, 2016 at Star City in Manila. The Gaming Convention was an avenue for gamers from all walks of life as they united together to compete in the games that they love to play all in one place. It was an event filled with a lot of surprises, prizes, and most importantly the winners for the Tournaments that were held. They covered a wide range of games like Ultimate Marvel vs Capcom, Tekken Tag, Pokemon Sun and Moon and NBA2K17.

    The Prizes

    Each of the champions were given customized trophies that represented the game they were a champion of and a hoodie that has the logo of PhilGA and the game they won. Here are the specifics with regards to the tournament mechanics and prizes:

    Playstation Vita Tournaments:
    Winner got 50% of the total Cash Pool and a Trophy of the specific title won courtesy of PhilGA

    God Eater 2 (Fastest Kill)

    Nintendo 3DS:
    Winner got 50% of the total Cash Pool and a Trophy of the specific title won courtesy of PhilGA
    Mario Kart 7
    Monster Hunter Generations (Fastest Kill)
    Pokemon Sun & Moon

    Tekken Tag Tournament 2 (players were allowed to bring their own fightstick as it was not provided)

    The Winners

    After a long day of competitions, battles, kills and fighting. Only one winner came out on top. And here we have the list of winners in their respected games:

    Nintendo 3DS Tournaments:

    • Mario Kart 7 – Ned Leyva
    • Monster Hunter Generation – Edwin Yonco
    • Pokemon Sun and Moon – Ericsson Marquez

    PSVita Tournaments:

    • God Eater 2 – Brandon Nabiula
    • Ultimate Marvel vs Capcom 3 – Tom Jimenez

    Playstation 3 Tournaments:

    • Tekken Tag Tournament 2 – Pao Islaw
    • Ultimate Marvel vs Capcom 3 – Bryan Balcorta

    Playstation 4 Tournaments:

    • Street Fighter V – Bryan Balcorta
    • NBA2K17 – Karlo Emmanuel Rosales of Team Andrews Plays
