The pixels are taking over the Earth!
Space is the human race’s final frontier and in the hopes of establishing contact with alien life, NASA sent a time capsule into the dark reaches of space containing footages of Earth and humanity’s culture and greatest achievements. But when the extraterrestrial beings received our message, they took it as a declaration of war. They attack the planet Earth with methods based from the game footages that they have seen. Now, it is up to an odd band of old-school arcade gamers to defeat these invaders and save the world.
Pixels is a 3D sci-fi comedy film starring the comedian Adam Sandler, Josh Gad, Peter Dinklage, and Michelle Monaghan. This movie will also feature the iconic classic arcade game characters such as Pac-Man, Donkey Kong, and those aliens from Space Invaders as the main baddies of the story. Adults who have grown up playing these games and the kids of today will surely enjoy the light comedy and exciting visuals Pixels will bring.
And you might recall that short film with the same title, visuals, and premise you might have seen a couple of years back. That short was the main inspiration of this movie that is set to come out on July 24, 2015 in US theaters.
Just imagine if this movie would have sequels and the alien tech get more advanced as they get their ideas from the next-gen games… Scarily exciting.
