Microsoft was the first gaming company to reveal to the world its next generation hardware console Xbox Series X and many were impressed. Shortly while after, Sony Interactive Entertainment revealed its hand, but it was only the controller, and a very long and deep-tech discussion about the PlayStation 5. There was no reveal of the console itself. That is until now. Hopefully.
PlayStation 5 event to reveal the real deal soon
Several reports suggest that there is an upcoming PS Event happening this coming late May or early June. Some even say a specific date: June 4.
VGC, a source of many rumors, revealed that they have a source that told them that Sony is planning something and it might be the PS5 hardware reveal. And it might be happening this coming May. Another statement coming from Niko Partner’s Daniel Ahmad suggested that big reveals could be happening soon due to the E3 2020 cancellation.
Another gaming publication, GamesBeat, also reported on the forum ResetEra that there could be a big event coming real soon and it could on June 4. He also agreed with the guys who reported that it could be earlier than that, but only on the part that it could be hardware reveal announcement.
A recent tweet by reporter Jason Schreier somehow confirms that an event is in the works and it will be happening soon. He replied to an inquiry about what Sony’s plans were after Microsoft revealed the recent Xbox Series X gameplay reveal. He replied that it could happen in a few more weeks. He does not specifically confirm that it is a PS5 reveal event, but there is something happening soon. And it is related to Sony.
Either way, take all of these with a grain of salt until otherwise Sony makes an official announcement.
