This has been something that a ton of PS4 owners have been requesting for years. I’m pretty sure that at one point any of you has wished to change your usernames every now and then. Well, there’s a possibility that you’ll actually be able to do that now.
Considering that there has a been a huge demand for the feature ever since it looks as if Sony may not have a choice but to provide it to their fans.
Sony Interactive Entertainment America’s Executive Shawn Layden teased about the upcoming feature during an interview DailyStar.co.uk. Layden said that they were looking to grant PSN users the ability to change their username.
He said “The elves at the North Pole have been working on it.”
“Let me put it this way: I hope we’ll see events occur so that you don’t have to ask me that question next PSX”
As hilarious as that sounds, Layden stated that the giving users that ability is much more complex than one would think. That’s probably the reason why the feature has yet to arrive in PSN update for years.
On another note, it looks as if the option for PSN users are able to change their ID isn’t going to happen anytime soon.
Sony Worldwide Studios boss Shuhei Yoshida said “As soon as we know, we’ll let you know. But as of today, we don’t ever know if we can ever do it properly.”
Hopefully, we’ll all get the ability to change our usernames this year. As for now, all we can do is wait until we see that update finally taking place.
