PS5 Prices to Increase in Select Territories

Sony Interactive Entertainment has made an official announcement in regards to PS5 price changes.

PS5 Prices Are Changing

SIE President and CEO Jim Ryan has officially announced the increase of prices for their latest console, the PS5. The price increase has been rumored for a long time now by the gaming community and its critics. Now, it has now been confirmed by the CEO, and just like what everyone speculated, the reason for the price change was due to high global inflation rates.

Inflation Rates and Adverse Currency Trends

Aside from high global inflation rates, Ryan revealed that SIE had to increase the price due to adverse currency trends, which have now impacted consumers and created pressure on many industries. The recommended retail price (RRP) of the PS5 in select markets across Europe, Middle East, Africa, Asia-Pacific, Latin America, and Canada. No increase in prices in the United States.
