Remnant 2 has some interesting procedural levels, one of which includes a chess puzzle in the Postulant’s Parlor that functions and feels more like tic-tac-toe. In Losomn, it’s possible for you to be challenged by the Postulant to a chess puzzle that has you competing against him to get three of your pieces in a row.

It sounds simple enough, but it can surprisingly be difficult as your movement with the pieces is limited, so we made this guide to teach you how to win the Postulant’s Parlor chess puzzle in Remnant 2.

How to Easily Win the Postulant’s Parlor Chess Puzzle in Remnant 2?

To solve the chess puzzle, you need to get three of your pieces to form a single line in a row and win the game. Here’s how you win the chess puzzle:

  • Start by moving your center piece to the top which the Postulant will respond by moving his bottom right piece to the center.
  • Next, move your bottom most piece to the left and the Postulant will respond by moving his leftmost piece to the top.
  • Take the same piece and move it upwards and then the Postulant will move his center piece to the bottom.
  • Now, win the game by taking your top most piece and moving it down to the center of the board.

The method above is the easiest and fastest way to solve the chess puzzle in Remnant 2. By giving the Postulant very little room to move how he wants, you can control the board to your favor. This will result in you winning by getting three of your pieces lined in a row.

Because of how the Postulant works, it’s possible that he won’t follow predictable patterns. It may be a glorified game of tic-tac-toe but the board isn’t always predicable. Not to worry as you can simply lose the game on purpose to save time and try again. Losing against the Postulant just means getting a debuff.

You’ll get the Postulant’s Parlor chess puzzle as one of the three puzzle levels that can be rolled with the Beatific Palace in Losomn. You’re not always guaranteed to get it and if you’re looking to tackle this puzzle you can reroll Losomn in Adventure Mode until you get it without sacrificing your campaign progress.

As a reward for solving the chess puzzle in Remnant 2, the door behind the Postulant will open the door behind them. You can get inside the door and pick up the Royal Bow as a reward. This is a weapon granted to those by the Postulant who can beat him in chess.

The Royal Bow itself doesn’t have any unique mods, unlike the Plasma Cutter, but it a decent weapon to have. It’s considered a regular long gun with decent damage. With the right mods, you can build it up to being a great weapon.
