Resident Evil 3 Remake on PS5 Uses Same Light Colors for Health

A poster on social media has found a really neat feature of the DualSense controller when player CAPCOM’s latest remake Resident Evil 3.

According to @DreamcastGuy on his official Twitter account, when he was playing RE3 on the next-gen console PlayStation 5, he noticed that the LED color of the DualSense controller changed whenever the protagonist Jill gets damaged. Then it made sense to him that the colors depend on the life of the character in the game, just like on the PS4.

Found a nice little element today to Resident Evil 3 on PS5. Your controller turns more bloody with the lights as you get hurt and goes back to green as you heal! pic.twitter.com/5Abbrwk5RX

The Twitter user revealed that when Jill’s life is near-death, the LED color is “bloody” red, when she gets lightly damaged it is color yellow, and while she is at full health, it is full green.

Maybe it is coincidence or CAPCOM made some adjustments so that the DualSense controller’s LEDs could function the same as with the DualShock 4 with the game’s PS4 version.

Resident Evil 3 Remake is now available on PS4 and backwards compatible with the PS5.
