For some bizarre reason, Resident Evil 4 Remake Collector’s Edition preorders from GameStop got canceled.
According to known gaming industry insider Wario64, GameStop employees have received a memo that informed them that physical stores will not be getting the Resident Evil 4 Remake Collector’s Edition and that preorders will be canceled. There are now offers for exchanges for those who already preordered early.
Customers who ordered online seem to be not affected by this order from GameStop higher-ups. The infamous gaming retail store has not released an official statement in regard to the matter.
One of the customers who preordered the collector’s edition has confirmed that their local store staff said that orders have been canceled “across the board” in-store. They also said that there was nothing about online orders so they are now trying to get more clarification.
Players who are getting the Resident Evil 4 Collector’s Edition will have special content like a steelbook, a statue of Leon Kennedy, a poster, and more. It is also quite pricey so only those who are true fans of the Resident Evil franchise would want this.
Resident Evil 4 Remake launches on March 24, 2023 on PC, PS4, PS5, and Xbox Series X/S.
