A dataminer has recently discovered that Resident Evil 4 Remake has some hidden content that references Separate Ways, which might mean there could be more DLC coming soon.
According to Twitter user Resident Evil Central, the dataminer nicknamed Gosetsu found this interesting hidden folder called The Another Order within Resident Evil 4 Remake’s files. This comes with the Chainsaw demo and the Mercenaries mode.
The Another Order folder was actually a reference to another extra game mode in the original Japanese game version. In the west, it is called Separate Ways.
Players who have not reached a certain point in the game, the following are Spoilers, be advised.
Separate Ways is another game mode for the original RE4. It focused on Ada Wong, a character that Leon meets in RE2 and then reappears in future games, with RE4 Remake in the latest. She is also somewhat a love interest of Leon. This extra mode filled up to missing parts of the game’s story.
Resident Evil 4 Remake does not have this game mode, but it could be coming at a later time with this discovery. So far, this datamined files are the only ones that can prove it, but as far as CAPCOM’s word goes, there is still no statement to confirm or deny this.
Resident Evil 4 Remake is out now on PC, PS4, PS5, and Xbox Series X/S.
