Indie publisher tinyBuild and developer Mandragora have officially launched ReStory: Chill Electronics Repairs on Steam, inviting players to restore nostalgic electronics while running their own repair shop in mid-2000s Tokyo.
Available now for $19.99, the relaxing shop management simulator is also launching with a limited-time 10% discount. Ahead of release, ReStory amassed more than 700,000 wishlists and delivered one of Steam Next Fest’s standout demos, ranking among the event’s 50 most-played demos while earning a 96% positive rating.
From the developers of I Am Future, ReStory combines shop management with narrative-driven gameplay as players repair and restore a wide range of retro-inspired electronics. Using specialized tools, players can disassemble, clean, and repair handheld consoles, phones, cameras, music players, home appliances, and other nostalgic devices, including officially licensed Atari systems.
Beyond repairing gadgets, players will manage their finances, decorate their workshop, browse a Y2K-inspired web for spare parts, and build relationships with customers. Every repair comes with its own story, and player choices can influence branching narratives, whether helping a student confess their feelings or uncovering secrets hidden on a former gangster’s phone.
