Ubisoft and Massive Entertainment’s upcoming open-world Star Wars Outlaws may release in late 2024, according to a report by gaming media outlet, IGN. According to their report, the Disney Parks blog post stated Star Wars Outlaws is “set to release late this year,” but that has been corrected as the publisher reached out to IGN and provided the “correct” release window.
Star Wars Outlaws explores the adventures of Kay Vess. Set in between the events of The Empire Strikes Back and Return of the Jedi, our heroine scoundrel is aiming to do the biggest heist of the galaxy to start a new life in a galaxy, far, far away.
During the Xbox Games Showcase and Ubisoft Forward last year, the livestream showcased its gameplay, combat, and a bit of exploration — providing a glimpse of what we can expect from Star Wars Outlaws.
It’s also been revealed in a recent interview with the game’s narrative director from Kotaku that players can explore dense cities, go into cantinas for missions, and even explore the vastness of space. Additionally, the almost seamless transition from the planet’s ground to space when you’re flying away in your ship is what got me excited about Star Wars Outlaws.
Star Wars Outlaws is expected to launch in 2024 for the PS5, Xbox Series X|S, and PC.
