The Starship Troopers Extermination roadmap has been released. It details new features that developers plan to add in the coming months.
Being an early-access game, the Starship Troopers: Extermination early access roadmap provides players with valuable insights into upcoming additions and updates from the developers. Starship Troopers: Extermination is currently being developed by Offworld Industries, the renowned Vancouver-based studio responsible for the highly acclaimed indie tactical shooter, Squad. Stay informed about release dates through the game’s roadmap and learn more about what is coming next for Starship Troopers: Extermination in 2023 by reading this article.
Phase One features two main game modes to Starship Troopers: Extermination – Assault and Secure, along with ARC Slam Mode, these modes are already playable right now in Early Access.
In Phase Two, expect exciting updates like mutators, player profiles with stat tracking, a new area in Valaka to explore and defend against bugs, and the addition of the hardest difficulty called Hero of the Federation. The upcoming Phase 2 will also add a new Horde mode where players will be fighting against a massive army of alien bugs to hold out as long as they can. Fittingly, this is the phase where Offworld Industries gives us manned HMG emplacements, which add an extra layer of defense.
Phase 2
- Mutators
- Horde Game Mode
- Player Profile and Stats
- Manned HMG Emplacements
- New Playable Zone on Valaka Map
- Hero of the Federation
Phase Three is where we get more in regards to class progression. We’ll be able to upgrade our abilities and take part in a rewards system to give soldiers more incentive to go out and do more beyond their citizenship. We may get new special weapon slots in relation to our classes that we can swap to give our chosen class more firepower in combat. Watch out for the hives, though, as bugs will continuously spawn there. Though we expect there’ll be some way to destroy it.
Phase 3
- Class Progression 2.0
- Abilities Upgrade
- Hives
- Rewards System
- Special Weapons Swapping
Phase Four is where we will get a lot of player interaction because the developers will be giving us a Player Hub where we can possibly meet with other players and form clans. We can even emote in this phase, which we’ll probably be using to communicate with other players or taunt the bugs. It isn’t all just player interaction, as the new weapons will finally be arriving, expanding our arsenal.
Phase 4
- Player Hub
- Emotes
- Clans
- New Weapons
- Boss Bug
- Marauder Support
- New Planet
Phase Five is the last phase the developers planned for the Starship Troopers: Extermination roadmap. Here we get a new class, which brings a total of four classes to pick from. We’ll also be able to add uniqueness to our personal avatars thanks to player customization. There’s a new Galactic War Meta-game which we believe is a new game mode similar to the likes of Conquest. You can view your Global Death Counter, and more gore will be added to the game.
Phase 5
- Galactic War Meta-game
- Player Customization
- New Trooper Class
- Global Death Counter
- More Gore
This Starship Troopers: Extermination early access roadmap was revealed on the game’s Steam page and their official Discord channel, but there aren’t any release dates yet for when each phase will launch. It is also stated that the roadmap contents are potentially subject to change depending on player feedback Offworld Industries gets.
According to our analysis of the Starship Troopers: Extermination roadmap, each phase is expected to launch at the start of every quarter, beginning this year. Phase 2 may be scheduled for release as early as late June of 2023, followed by subsequent quarterly releases, assuming the developers maintain a year-long development cycle.
Expanding the game’s content would greatly enhance the overall gameplay. As fans of the original films, the Roughnecks: Starship Troopers Chronicles series, and books, we are all hyped for this bug-killing action-packed first-person shooter, and most of all, we are happy to know that its developer knows the only good bug is a dead bug. So far, we’re loving what’s being promised.
We’ll make sure to update this guide once more information becomes available!
