How to Romance Gordy
You have to raise Gordy’s Heart Level during Year One by giving him gifts he likes and witnessing his Heart Events in order to romance him. Once your Heart Level is high enough, you can marry Gordy by the end of Chapter 1.
Witnessing all of Gordy’s Heart Events isn’t necessary to romance him, but they do help you get closer, as picking the right dialogue options during these events earns you affection points with him. You need at least 8 Heart Levels with Gordy before he’ll agree to marry you with the Blue Feather you receive automatically by Day 10 of Spring. In the 1st chapter, you’ll receive a list of marriage candidates you can choose from among the bachelors and bachelorettes if you fail to propose. If your Heart Level with Gordy isn’t high enough, you can’t marry him.
If you want to keep track of how much Gordy likes you already, bring up the Resident Info menu or check out his diary inside his house on the sofa. This will show you the amount of hearts, which indicates how romantically interested you are in any of the romance options. You only have until the end of Chapter 1 to romance him before you’re forced to marry someone.
Gordy Schedule
Pay attention to Gordy’s schedule because it’s important to note when he’s available to interact with. Gordy wakes up at 9 AM but doesn’t leave his trailer until 10 AM, where you can find him working on his art. At 4 PM, he’ll either go back to his trailer or you can see him walking in the Forest for inspiration.
If he does go to the Forest, Gordy won’t return to his home until 7 or 8 PM at night. You can find him relaxing outside his trailer, where he’ll go to bed at 10 PM. By the time he goes to bed, he won’t be available to interact with.
Gordy Heart Events
You have until Day 10 of Winter to witness all of Gordy’s Heart Events. These optional events can be triggered under the right conditions, which helps you get closer to Gordy, especially when you pick the right options.
Here’s how to trigger all of Gordy’s Heart Events:
Gordy Heart Event 1
- Time: 10 AM to 5 PM
- Location: Gordy’s House
- Requirements: 2 Heart Events
From Charlie’s House, walk to Gordy’s trailer for this event to trigger. You’ll find that Gordy is lost in thought and isn’t acknowledging that you’re here. Pick the option to go make sure he’s alright. Then tell him he can visit your farm at anytime which will earn affection from him.
Gordy Heart Event 2
- Time: 10 AM to 5 PM
- Location: Outside your farmhouse
- Requirements: 4 Heart Levels
To trigger Gordy’s second Heart Event, you need crops currently growing in your farm and have seen the first Heart Event. At 10 AM onwards exist your farm and Gordy will greet you telling you that he took up your offer to visit the farm. Tell Gordy to take his time and he’ll be grateful. Once Takakura and Gordy interact with each other, choose to intervene which earns affection from Gordy.
Gordy Heart Event 3
- Time: 10 AM to 5 PM
- Location: Gordy’s Workshop
- Requirements: 6 Heart Levels
To trigger this event, go to Gordy’s Workshop from the Turtle Pond. Gordy will be surprised you overheard him calling your name from behind the sculpture he’s working before realizing you’ve arrived. Ask Gordy if he wants to hang out. Then tell him that there’s lots of good people around as well after he tells you how nice mother nature feels.
Gordy Heart Event 4
- Time: 10 AM to 7 PM
- Location: Gordy’s Workshop
- Requirements: 8 Heart Levels
It has to be Autumn or Winter before this Heart Event can trigger. All previous events should’ve been seen as well. Go to Gordy’s Workshop and you’ll see him collapsed outside. After helping the man in, ask Gordy what his thoughts are. He then tells you about an idea he had but he isn’t sure about it, ask him if he likes the idea and he’ll ask you to stick around.
Best Gifts for Gordy
These are the best gifts you can give to Gordy:
- Milk
- Toy Flowers
- Mistbloom
- Upseed
- Moonlight Ore
Gordy won’t accept any gifts if his arms are crossed, so you have to wait until they aren’t before you can start gifting him. The best kind of gifts for Gordy are simple things like wildflowers and milk. You can also get some Moonlight Ore from the Dig Site to give Gordy, which also ranks amongst the favorite gifts for this bachelor.
You can give Gordy as many gifts as you want per day, provided that he’s available, but you can’t give him two of the same gift types in a single day. So if you want to give him two Toy Flowers, you’ll have to wait until tomorrow before he’ll accept the other half.
