The Processing Room is one of the facilities that can be built on the farm in Story of Seasons: A Wonderful Life. In this room, produce can be further processed into other dairy products for different uses such as butter and cheese. How to get the Processing Room

To get the Processing Room in SoS: AWL, you can place an order to build one through the farm’s ledger by selecting Order Facilities > Processing Room. Constructing the building will cost 150,000 G, and it will take Takakura a few days to build it. It will be built between Takakura’s house and the Storage Shed.

*There have been reports that the Processing Room took too long to be built. If you encounter this issue, try to check for an update on the game, as there has been a patch that was rolled out to solve this bug.

How to use the Processing Room

How to use the Processing Room in SoS: AWL

Inside the Processing Room are two machines that can process milk into two different products: the yellow machine on the left will produce cheese, while the silver machine on the right will produce butter.

To get the product that you want, bring the milk that you want to process over to the room, then interact with the corresponding machine. Next, select the amount of milk that you want to place (if you’re carrying more than one), and press OK. The machine will then almost instantly process the milk into your chosen product.

Cheese or Butter?

It is important to know that different milk types will also produce different qualities of cheese or butter, and some of them are worth more to process into one of them than the other. Despite this, cheese and butter won’t have any distinction as to what kind of milk was used to make them.

As a quick note, milk from Marble Cows is more suited to be turned into cheese, while milk from Brown Cows is more suited to be turned into butter. This is because turning the right milk into the right product will bump up its quality one level higher, up to the maximum SS quality.

Milk from Normal Cows will not have this effect, but they are still worth turning to either cheese or butter to raise their selling price, while milk from Star Cows should not be processed as their milk is worth more than its processed goods.

Goat Milk can also be processed into goat cheese and goat butter, and there’s no difference in price between the two. Mother’s Milk can also be processed into Mother’s Cheese and Mother’s Butter, but the milk is more useful when fed to young calves.
