The Seed Maker is one of the machines that can be obtained in Story of Seasons: A Wonderful Life. This machine can produce seeds from any crop or fruit placed inside it, making it a very indispensable machine to get and one that players should have as soon as possible. Read ahead as we go through the steps on how to unlock the Seed Maker and share how it works in Story of Seasons: A Wonderful Life.
How to get the Seed Maker in A Wonderful Life
There are two ways to get the Seed Maker. The first one is to purchase it from the order ledger once you have enough money for it. The Seed Maker costs 30,000G when ordered through the ledger, and it gets delivered the following day.
The other option to get the Seed Maker is to befriend Daryl. After reaching a high level of friendship with Daryl (at least 80% and up) and seeing at least two of his friendship events, you will be able to unlock an event with him where he will give you the Seed Maker for free.
To befriend Daryl quickly, simply give him at least three types of gifts daily, such as fish, eggs, and old coins from the Dig Site. He is usually found in his lab or near the Goddess Spring from noon to evening. Once you get his friendship level near or on the red part, head over to his house in the afternoon, around 3 to 5 pm, to trigger the event and get the Seed Maker.
Once obtained, the Seed Maker will be placed outdoors in the shack of your farm.
How the Seed Maker works
To use the Seed Maker, simply interact with it, and you will see 12 slots where you can place the crops or fruits that you want to get processed. Each crop or fruit placed inside will produce 2 bags of its seeds, and processing takes 1 full day. You will see the glass panel turn red once a seed is ready to be taken out.
How to use the Seed Maker to improve harvest quality
When starting out with the Seed Maker, depending on how far you are in the game when you first get it, it is recommended to use it to process harvests from fertilized plants since the resulting seeds will inherit the quality of the processed harvest. For example, here’s the step-by-step process of improving the quality of a crop from B Rank to S Rank:
- Crop (B) is planted, fertilized, then harvested, resulting in Crop (A)
- Crop (A) is processed in the Seed Maker, resulting in 2 bags of Crop (A) seeds
- Crop (A) seeds are then planted, fertilized, then harvested, resulting in Crop (S)
- Crop (S) is processed in the Seed Maker, resulting in 2 bags of Crop (S) seeds
With the example above, you will be able to get S Rank harvests within 1 to 3 years, depending on the growth period of the plant, without spending so much on fertilizer.
