Prime Matter and Nightdive Studios have officially confirmed that System Shock Remake PC Edition has been delayed.
It has been confirmed by the publisher that the PC edition of System Shock Remake, the fully-fledged remake of the original from 1994 will now launch on May 30, 2023. They admitted that they wanted to release the game to the market by the end of March 2023, but it was beyond their reach.
According to the new announcement, the System Shock Remake will combine the cult gameplay of the iconic original game with all-new HD visuals, updated controls, overhauled interface, and new sounds and music. It will have new enemies that were not in the original game, have tweaks to its quality of life gameplay, and a revamped hacking system and visceral new combat options that feature a brutal dismemberment system.
Players will have to use a combination of stealth, cunning, and futuristic weaponry to make their way through Citadel Station’s new areas. There will be traps, puzzles, and secrets to discover.
The PC edition of System Shock Remake is currently available to preorder via Steam, GOG, and the Epic Games Store. It will include a free copy of the upcoming System Shock 2 Enhanced Edition for all early buyers. Console editions will be released at a later time.
