It was recently revealed that the file size of The Legend of Zelda Tears of the Kingdom is quite huge and has now surpassed a new record.

According to reddit, it was revealed that The Legend of Zelda Tears of the Kingdom’s file size is actually 18.2 GB and can be seen on the official US Nintendo website. On the UK Nintendo side, it is listed as 18.637 GB. This has now confirmed that this upcoming title is the largest first-party game in Nintendo Switch history.

For comparison, The Legend of Zelda Breath of the Wild was 14.4 GB only. Other titles close to the game’s big size are Xenoblade Chronicles 3 with 14 GB, Xenoblade Chronicles Definitive Edition with 13.7 GB, Fire Emblem Engage with 13.4 GB, and Xenoblade Chronicles 2 with 13.2 GB.

Do note that this new record is for first-party Nintendo Switch games not in general. There are far bigger Switch games already, but only third-party ones like NBA 2K23 with a whopping 53.7 GB. The Witcher 3 Complete Edition is also quite large with 31.5 GB.
