The Witcher 3: Wild Hunt new resurgence of players

After the release of the Netflix version of the franchise, the digital game suddenly got a surge of players over the weekend on Steam. A certain gaming publication confirmed that the number of players recorded on Steam were at nearly 50K players as of Dec. 23. The average players on PC have been approximately 13,000 over the past six months, with a slight improvement of up to 18,000 concurrents in July with the reveal of the Netflix series at San Diego Comic Con.

This player count increase to this extent has not been seen since 2016 when the game developer CD Projekt RED launched the game’s DLC, Blood and Wine.

The full game is now available on PlayStation 4, Xbox One, Nintendo Switch, and PC.
