Backwards compatibility has always been one of the most requested features in console gaming. And PS5 promises to deliver that and more. But as to what games are “backwards compatible” exactly has still yet to be properly announced. Ubisoft however has just gone out their way to tell us that yes, most of their games this generation will run on the PS5.
Those consoles will be running almost all the back catalog of the previous consoles. It will be something new in the industry. It will help the old generations to continue to be big consoles on the market for years to come.

Whether this quote means that PS5 will be able to play current gen games on your PS4 library right now is up on air. But hopefully this will be good news for those hoping for more freedom to play games we already own for the PS1, PS2, PS3, and PS4 without having to pay for it again or even pay for its remasters. Hopefully, Sony will reveal more details regarding PlayStation 5’s backwards compatibility soon!
