Warner Bros. Suddenly Canceling Hogwarts Legacy Preorders

Uh-oh. Should you be worried?

Game publisher Warner Bros. Interactive is suddenly canceling Hogwarts Legacy preorders for some reason and fans are panicking.

Why Cancel Hogwarts Legacy Preorders All of a Sudden?!

Several customers who preordered the game recently are now panicking as they discovered that their copies are getting canceled by WB Interactive for some reason. They quickly vented on social media and inquired on the tech support account of WB Games to pin down the reason for the cancelation. The ones behind the account were quick to give them an answer which actually made sense.

Blame it on Old-Gen

According to WB Games Support on Twitter, the cancelation was due to the delay of the PS4 and Xbox One versions of the game. Why are these versions involved? It turns out these customers have preordered the Digital Deluxe Edition for the PS5 and Xbox Series X versions of the game, which prompted the cancelation. This special edition actually includes the PS4 and Xbox One versions and since they are getting delayed, WB Games decided to cancel them and let the customers preorder them again.

Why Buy Digital Deluxe Edition

The Digital Deluxe Edition of Hogwarts Legacy has some incentives many fans would want to have when playing the game. It has 72 hours of early access to the game, a Thestral mount, a Dark Arts-themed Battle Arena, and Dark Arts-themed cosmetics that include a Garrison Hat.

Unfortunately, due to the circumstance of the old-gen version delay, this Digital Deluxe Edition might not get released soon. It could be released when the old-gen version gets launched.

When Does Hogwarts Legacy get Released?

Hogwarts Legacy launches on February 10, 2023 on PC, PS5, and Xbox Series X/S. The PS4 and Xbox One versions launch on April 4, 2023 instead while the Nintendo Switch version launches on July 25, 2023.
