What happened to the Resident Evil 4 Remake U3 Boss Fight?

Players who completed the game are asking where the Resident Evil 4 Remake U3 boss fight is. This divisive boss from the original game is a bit of a tough discussion for fans of RE4, as some like it and others don’t. However, the U-3 boss is nowhere to be found in the Resident Evil 4 Remake. Why is that?

What happened to the Resident Evil 4 Remake U3 Boss Fight?

The Resident Evil 4 Remake U3 boss fight was cut from the game. Capcom has not given a reason why this is so, but presumably it is because many players have complained about this particular boss.

It doesn’t help that the U3 boss is encountered on the island, which was already the most controversial part of the game. It essentially turned Resident Evil 4 from an action survival horror game to a full-fledged third-person shooter. The addition of a boss where most of what you really have to do is run around and press buttons didn’t sit well with many fans.

Capcom has done a lot to remain faithful to the original Resident Evil 4, even with significant changes. Changes such as Ashley’s look, Leon’s new gun, and other details. The developers have also decided not to include the Resident Evil 4 remake U3 boss fight in the final game.

This shouldn’t come as a surprise. QTE events have also been replaced, which means that the laser dodging room, which everyone did find amusing, is no longer present either. The decision to remove U3 may be because of the more serious tone that the remake presents.

Whether we’ll see the U3 possibly return as an enemy if Capcom ever decides to announce Separate Ways or Assignment Ada is something we still have to see. Either way, Leon is spared from having to fight this almost invincible foe. Although, considering Ada never fought U3, it’s hard to think it may come back for any reason.

The removal of the Resident Evil 4 U3 boss fight was met with some praise from players who didn’t like that section of the game. Though there are still those who like fighting against an enemy that isn’t so easily killed and looks incredibly horrific.

The Resident Evil 4 Remake U3 is the only boss fight from the original that’s been cut. Others have been remade and much improved to better fit the new movement of Leon. Even Krauser’s QTE segments have been completely removed for actual combat with him now.

In the original game, the U3 boss took place in tight corridors where Leon has to run around pressing buttons while he’s chased. The most notable figure of the U3 is its long tongue, but it’s easily twice Leon’s size and has a grotesque body. Fighting it for real doesn’t come until after the second phase when it’s transforms and grows a scissor like appendage on top of it.

So what was the U3? It was an experimental bio weapon composed of a human, insect, and reptile DNA all fused into one while being hosted by a Plaga parasite. It’s as every bit as gross as it sounds. Whether you’re happy or not, it’s entire section including the underground storage containers are not included in the Resident Evil 4 Remake.

We hope this explains what happened to the Resident Evil 4 Remake U3 boss fight.
